Boyhood wins big at the NYFCC Awards.
Kicking off the awards contention buzz yesterday was the annual New York Film Critics Circle Awards, the winners of which are usually a strong indication as to what films and filmmakers will win big once awards season begins taking off in the months to come.
As with usual NYFCC nominations, there were many titles in consideration for the prestigious prizes, with Richard Linklater’s staggering Boyhood winning the top prizes of Best Film, Best Director and Best Supporting Actress, which put it, Linklater and Patricia Arquette in good stead come the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards.
